Message from the Local Organizing Commeittee

Dear colleagues, researchers and practitioners,

Assalamo Alaykom !

We are delighted to invite you to the International Conference on Sentinel Systems and Environmental Health, which will take place at the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fez, Morocco, from 19 to 21 November 2025.

This conference will bring together experts and stakeholders from around the world to explore how sentinel systems—early warning and monitoring mechanisms—can enhance our understanding of environmental and occupational health risks and support effective policy responses.

Fez, one of the oldest and most vibrant cities in the world, is renowned for its rich history, architectural heritage, and academic tradition as home to the world’s oldest university, Al Quaraouiyine. Morocco, at the crossroads of Africa, Europe, and the Arab world, offers a dynamic setting to discuss global environmental challenges and innovative health solutions.

Our overarching theme, “Early Warnings, Stronger Futures: Enhancing Sentinel Systems and Strengthening Networks for Impact in Developing Regions”, reflects the urgency of leveraging science and technology to detect, assess, and mitigate environmental hazards. From air and water quality surveillance to emerging threats posed by climate change and pollution, we aim to foster interdisciplinary collaborations that translate research into impactful action.

We look forward to welcoming you to Fez in November 2025, where together, we will advance the dialogue on environmental health and strengthen the global network of sentinel monitoring initiatives.

Best regards,

Prof. Salim Bounou, President of the Local Organizing Committee

Prof. Abdelghafour Marfak, Co-President of the Local Organizing Committee

Prof. Younes Filali Zegzouti, Co-President of the Local Organizing Committee
