BIONET 3rd study visit at Fez, Morocco 17-18, 2025

The BIONET consortium held its third study visit on 17–18 November 2025 at Université Euro-Méditerranéenne de Fès in Fez, Morocco. Partners came together to review progress and plan next steps for advancing occupational and environmental health in Africa 🌍.

Key highlights:
🌍African partners presented new results from the Human Sentinel Surveillance Study, highlighting key occupational exposures, environmental risks, and challenges faced by workers. A joint scientific paper will share these results with the wider research community.

💻📚 Partners shared updates on BIONET training activities, including trainee numbers and priorities for new modules to strengthen the BIONET e-learning platform and support capacity building for different trainee groups.

🤝🏽🏛️ Inter-university research teams across African higher education institutions discussed opportunities for closer collaboration on research topics that matter for today’s communities and future generations.

🌱🔗 Partners agreed to establish the BIONET Network as a long-term framework for cooperation on environmental health, occupational surveillance and safety, and biomonitoring.
