CALL FOR APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN
The International Hollaender Workshop is organized thanks to the generous support of the Alexander Hollaender International Outreach Committee (HIOC) of the Environmental Mutagenesis and Genomics Society (EMGS). The workshop is co-organized by EMGS in collaboration with KU Leuven (Belgium), within the framework of the BIONET International Conference on Occupational Surveillance and Environmental Health. This international workshop will be held in Morocco from 17 to 19 November 2025. The training will include lecture courses and laboratory-based experiments, covering both basic and advanced concepts and methods in the fields of environmental health, genetic toxicology, the exposome, human biomonitoring, and multi-omics.
The workshop is facilitated by national and international experts from recognized institutions (e.g., IARC, KU Leuven, Aarhus University). The workshop is primarily intended for MSc and Ph.D. students from North Africa. However, early career researchers and/or students from the Middle East or Sub-Saharan Africa who are interested in attending the workshop are also encouraged to apply. Applicants are required to submit a short motivation letter explaining their interest in the workshop and how they plan to apply genetic toxicology concepts or methods in their current or future work. Please complete the form and make sure to submit it on time by September 28th, 2025 : https://forms.cloud.microsoft/e/uvPE0mJusj
Selection will be made by the workshop committee based on the relevance of the applicant’s academic background and research to the field of genomics, the clarity of their personal motivation, and the potential impact on their career or scientific work. Geographic, institutional, and gender diversity will be considered to ensure an inclusive cohort. Preference may be given to candidates from underrepresented regions or low-resource settings. In the case of equally qualified applicants, selection will follow a first-come, first-served basis. All selected participants will receive a full registration fee waiver. Participants who attend the full training will receive a certificate of successful participation, which will be awarded during a ceremony at the opening of the BIONET Conference (on the afternoon of November 19).
