BIONET 2nd study visit at KU Leuven, December 9-11, 2024

On December 9-11, 2024, BioNet partners including health experts and academics met in Leuven, Belgium, for the project's second study visit.

 

💡 Key Highlights:

BioNet e-learning training: Discussions focused on course content, materials of interest from training beneficiaries, and feedback to enhance its integration into the curricula of African Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Strategies n integration of BioNet e-learning in the curricula of the partner universities and skill enhancement in African Higher Education Institutions.

Sentinel surveillance and exposure assessment: Plans for implementing reliable data collection systems and early detection of chemical risks in work environments were presented. The newly developed Human Sentinel Surveillance Platform (HSSP) was highlighted, supported by an engaging presentation from the IDEWE team, which provided directives on monitoring worker health in Europe.

BioNet communication strategy: Further discussions addressed the development of awareness materials, strategies for conducting awareness campaigns, timeline for upcoming project deliverables, and preliminary plan for BioNet conference on sentinel system and environmental health to be held in November 2025.
