Successful completion of Alexander Hollaender International Course (17-19 November, 2025)

 

The Environmental Mutagenesis and Genomics Society and KU Leuven organized the ๐—”๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜…๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—›๐—ผ๐—น๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—œ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—–๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ฒ (17โ€“19 ๐—ก๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ 2025), in collaboration with the BIONET Erasmus+ CBHE Consortium and was hosted by Universitรฉ Euro-Mรฉditerranรฉenne de Fรจs (Morocco).

๐Ÿงฌ๐Ÿ”ฌThirty participants from Ethiopia, DR Congo, Nigeria, Mauritania, Belgium, and Morocco joined a strong programme on genotoxicity, biomonitoring, and environmental health, including sessions on the exposome, human biomonitoring, genotoxicity assays, DNA repair biomarkers, scientific writing, and field research in low-income settings.

๐Ÿค๐ŸงชIt was complemented by a hands-on lab session and networking activities.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿซ๐ŸŽ“The course was facilitated by Dr. Manosij Ghosh (KU Leuven) with expert contributions from France, Belgium, Portugal, and the USA.

โœˆ๏ธ๐Ÿ…Two travel awards, supported by the EMGS Alexander Hollaender Outreach Committee, helped ensure broader participation and reduced financial barriers for early-career scientists.
